History

We began in 2003 as concerned members of local congregations who wanted to address the crisis concerning affordable housing in North Brooklyn. Since the beginning we have successfully advocated for the creation of thousands of units of new affordable housing. In 2008, the organization’s cofounder and leader, Father Jim O’Shea resigned.  Resulting in a vacancy in leadership in our organization.  Despite this setback, a group of resilient leaders reorganized under the group’s original nam
