Holiday Party for Hundreds of Under-Served Brooklyn Kids

December 14th, 2011-New York, New York- On Sunday, December 4th, 2011 Churches United For Fair Housing, Inc. (CUFFH) (a not for profit organization that works towards creating a sustainable living community responsive to housing, open space, education, health and economic development needs in and near North Brooklyn) with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union #3 “A” Apprentices hosted a Holiday party for hundreds of under-served children from Bushwick, Williamsburg & Bed-Stuy sections of Brooklyn. The children ages were from 6-13 years old and the event is held at the Electrical Industry Center Auditorium in Flushing, NY. It takes 2 days and more then a 100 volunteers to set up the auditorium from a meeting space to a winter wonderland.
We been involved with the Holiday Party for almost 10 years now and it started with just a few kids from Williamsburg and now its turned into hundreds of children from Bushwick, Williamsburg & Bed-Stuy. The electrical union sponsors the party and for us being part of an event that helps the community we serve is an amazing feeling, said Rob Solano , Executive Director of Churches United For Fair Housing, Inc.
The event consist of games, a free raffle gift surprise, DJ music, dance contest, arts & crafts, food, a visit from Sponge Bob Square Pants & friends, and finally a special visit from Santa Clause who presented each child with a gift.

New York City- This Sunday, December 4th, 2011 Churches United For Fair Housing, Inc. (CUFFH) with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union #3 “A” Apprentices will host a Holiday party for hundreds of children from the Bushwick, Williamsburg & Bed-Stuy sections of Brooklyn, between the ages of 6-13 years old. The event is held at the Electrical Industry Center Auditorium located at 158-11 Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Avenue Flushing, NY 11365 from 12pm-4pm. It takes 2 days and more then a 100 volunteers to set up the auditorium from a meeting space to a winter wonderland.
We been involved with the Holiday Party for a few years now and it started with just a few kids from Williamsburg and now its turned into hundreds of children from Bushwick & Bed-Stuy as well. Last year, a kid wrote “Best Day Ever”, it’s a great feeling to be part of an event that helps the community we serve, said Rob Solano , Executive Director of Churches United For Fair Housing.
